Epic Tale of Aden
NA era: 2014–2021
Fan-archive commentary for player memory. NA dates cross-checked with English Wikipedia — Lineage II (Content patches). NA launch dates and patch codenames cross-checked with the English Wikipedia Content patches tables. EU and Korean-only interim patches without an NA date are omitted. Summaries and lore beats are original L2Echoes archive commentary.
History
Fourth Live saga on the Western timeline — the long post–Goddess of Destruction chapter that opened with Ertheia (Dimensional Strangers) on 30 July 2014 and ran through Herald of Light in mid-2021. Where classic players remember Interlude and High Five as “the Aden they knew,” Epic Tale of Aden is the era of dimensional races, marathon episode titles, and a Live client that kept reshaping endgame while Classic and later project lines peeled veterans into parallel tracks.
Why it mattered
For NA players who stayed on Live after F2P, this saga is the memory of adapting to a seventh race, chasing new raid and class beats season after season, and watching the Western population split between Live nostalgia and official Classic. L2Echoes treats each episode as a place to hang screenshots and clan stories — not as a date table alone.
Lore beats
- Ertheia arrive as dimensional strangers — a seventh race that rewrites party composition and identity on Live
- Episode cadence replaces the old Chronicle C0–C5 feel: Infinite Odyssey, Helios, Grand Crusade, Salvation, Fafurion
- Live becomes the “modern” path while Classic (2018+) and later Aden/Wolf/Samurai give players other homes
- By Herald of Light, many Western veterans already lived split lives between Live patches and nostalgia tracks
Key changes
- Ertheia / Dimensional Strangers (EP1)
- Infinite Odyssey & Underground
- Helios (EP3)
- Grand Crusade (EP4)
- Salvation & Fafurion eras
- Late titles through Herald of Light
