Ertheia: Dimensional Strangers
NA launch: · EP1
Fan-archive commentary for player memory. NA dates cross-checked with English Wikipedia — Lineage II (Content patches). Official chronicle story summary · fan archive (paraphrased lore beats; not verbatim NCSoft chapter text). NA launch dates from Wikipedia.
History
Ertheia: Dimensional Strangers (EP1) opened Epic Tale of Aden on NA on 30 July 2014. The seventh race — dimensional strangers with their own class paths — changed who showed up in your party list and how Live talked about itself after Goddess of Destruction. For Western players, Ertheia launch day is as sharp a memory as Kamael was in the Throne years: new character creation screenshots, “maining Ertheia” experiments, and the sense that Live had entered a named sequel saga rather than endless GoD mid-patches.
Why it mattered
Starts the fourth Live saga and adds a race many still associate with “modern L2.” Tag creation-day photos, first Ertheia gear flexes, and clan recruitment posts that suddenly wanted dimensional DPS or support. L2Echoes keeps this hub so ETA does not collapse into a Wikipedia date row.
Lore beats
- Dimensional strangers join Humans, Elves, Dark Elves, Orcs, Dwarves, and Kamael on Live
- Party and clan identity shift as Ertheia classes enter the meta
- Marketing and loading screens announce a new saga after the F2P first act
- Memory lane for players who rolled Ertheia first and never looked back — or deleted them a week later
Key changes
- Codename EP1
- NA 30 July 2014
- Ertheia race
