History
Chronicle 1: Harbingers of War (C1). NA launch 28 June 2004. After Cardinal Seresin’s brief calm, war ignites not on the monster frontier but at Giran Castle — Elven defender Lionna Blackbird, Human attacker Erica Ken Weber, the Red Wolf Brotherhood, and mercenary captain Sieghardt Ein collide over the castle’s holy artifact and rightful ownership.
Why it mattered
Made castle siege the emotional center of classic L2 storytelling and cemented Giran as the commercial and military heartland of Aden’s early chronicle era.
Lore beats
- Seresin’s hard-won trust collapses; crisis flares inside human lands instead of the northern wilds
- Lionna Blackbird holds Giran’s walls while Erica Ken Weber and the Red Wolf Brotherhood lead the assault across the bridge
- A Black Anvil siege golem — an iron leviathan tied to dwarf craft and Shakdun’s role in the attack — breaks the stalemate at the gates
- Epilogue: Sieghardt Ein’s mercenaries claim the holy artifact; Sir Graham’s arrival reframes who truly owns the castle
