History
Chronicle 5: Oath of Blood (C5). NA launch 6 September 2006 (Wikipedia also notes Stratics Expansion of the Year). Clans rise as cabal solidarity frays; Heroes emerge; clan academies and blood oaths usher in the Age of Clans that closes the Chaotic Chronicles before The Chaotic Throne.
Why it mattered
Final Chaotic Chronicles chapter — reframed player guilds as the world’s protectors and rivals, with academy/Hero systems backing the Age of Clans fantasy.
Lore beats
- Without constant divine shelter, adventurers survive by banding into clans — or declaring war on each other
- Cabal solidarity fragments; clan leaders join, leave, or exploit Dawn and Dusk for their own ends
- Heroes Arise: individual champions gain fame as clan power eclipses pure cabal loyalty
- Honor and Dedication: a new clan academy model, tested in Oren’s strong militia culture, spreads to every territory
- Age of Clans: members level prestige through sieges and great monster battles under the Oath of Blood
