Deathknight

NA era: 2021–2024

Fan-archive commentary for player memory. NA dates cross-checked with English Wikipedia — Lineage II (Content patches). NA launch dates and patch codenames cross-checked with the English Wikipedia Content patches tables. EU and Korean-only interim patches without an NA date are omitted. Summaries and lore beats are original L2Echoes archive commentary.

History

Live patch era after Epic Tale of Aden — Master Class (19 October 2021) through Rising Knight (7 August 2024). Named for the Deathknight identity wave that defined late Live marketing, this stretch is where remaining NA Live players chased Master Class systems, successive threat-branded seasons, and a client that still updated while Classic and project servers carried much of the Western social graph.

Why it mattered

Deathknight-era pages on L2Echoes exist so late Live memories are not erased just because many friends had already moved to Classic or private Interlude. Tag screenshots and stories here if your characters rode Master Class through Rising Knight — the archive keeps the continuum visible even when the player base thinned.

Lore beats

Master Class reframes late Live progression and class fantasy after the ETA episode marathon
Season titles — Storm of Terror, Hero’s Tome, Dethrone Fire, Shinemaker, Rising Knight — mark social eras as much as patch notes
Western Live becomes a smaller, dedicated circle while Classic and project lines hold larger nostalgia crowds
Archive value: prove that post-2021 Live still had clans, raids, and nights worth remembering
